THE HEBREW WAY OF LOVE

It's a "Love Song"

In Hebrew, the word for love is AHAVAH (pronounced ah - hah - vah). AHAVAH means "I give" and not just to give anything,.but giving something that we value - from our spiritual being/essence, giving our devotion, time, attention, all of ourselves

"Ain't there something I can give you, In exchange for everything you give to me

Read my mind and make me feel just fine, When I think my peace of mind is out of reach"

Giving You the Best That I Got - Anita Baker

We are at our best, attaining our higher-selves when we are connected to the Creator through devotion, worship, obedience, giving. In this exchange, we are perfected and are continuously being perfected for His will and purpose.

Jesus answered him, “If you wish to be perfect [that is, have the spiritual maturity that accompanies godly character with no moral or ethical deficiencies], go and sell what you have and give [the money] to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow Me [becoming My disciple, believing and trusting in Me and walking the same path of life that I walk].” Matthew 19:21

It is a "love song" between the believer and the Father who breathes His spirit into us ...

"My weary mind is rested, And I feel as if my home is in your arms

Fears are all gone, I like the sound of your song

And I think I want to sing it forever" (Anita Baker lyrics)

Freely Giving what was Freely Received

  1. Giving is a vehicle through which love is expressed
  2. Giving is a condition that creates and sustains love
  3. Giving connects the giver to the receiver
  4. Authentic relationships are those in which mutual giving occurs

Without giving, a true relationship with God and others cannot endure. His breath of life will cease in us and our relationships. Our spiritual lives, our "love song" and our connection to Him will come to an end.
